Hey, first blog post as a 30-year-old! My birthday has just come and gone, which always signals to me that summer is in full swing. During summer I usually escape LA for a quick trip or two, but this year I’m doing things a bit differently. In fact, I’m spending the whole thing in Europe! I didn’t make any huge plans to celebrate this ‘milestone’ birthday on purpose. Just being here in Poland with my boyfriend while he films a movie has been more than special enough to mark the occasion, and I’ll be exploring a few other cities/countries before we head home.
With living in Europe for the summer comes packing trickiness. While I usually like to pack pretty light (after an ill-fated trip to Southeast Asia a few years ago I learned the importance of not taking much more than a carry-on), I will admit I really overdid it this time. I figured hey, I’ll be gone for 2 months, I may as well take as much as I can so that I have everything I might need. But as usual, only about 40% of what I brought is realistically getting used in the rotation. Pretty much the only thing I don’t regret packing a ton of is jewelry.
Minimal gold and silver jewelry is my absolute best friend lately, and I usually never leave the house without some earrings and an assortment of rings and necklaces, even if I’m just running around in yoga pants. I’m so obsessed with packing on the bling that I actually plan to get a few more holes pierced while I’m here so that I can wear more even earrings at a time 😆 You could say that I have a problem.
I’ve been through so many phases with jewelry. There were times I would religiously only wear silver, or only gold, but now? Most days I wear both at the same time. I love mixing them! Plus, I’ve discovered so many chic, minimal brands that offer endless options for classic pieces that make mixing and matching super easy. I’ve put together some of my favorite rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets for you here – bring on the summer bling!
