It’s the middle of winter, so I’d say some warm weather wanderlust inspo is in order. Last month we were lucky enough to take a brief time-out from reality on the island of Maui, and even though I grew up as a kid visiting family on the big island every summer, I’m still always blown away by how peaceful and beautiful Hawaii is. We hiked the volcano crater, swam with sea turtles, lounged on beaches and drove through the rain to explore the entire island coast – so packing for this trip was actually a bit more complicated than for your average lazy vacay.
Hawaii is mostly warm year-round, but since we were visiting in winter, it actually got quite a bit colder than I expected it to once the rain hit. I wanted my wardrobe to be cute but island-appropriate (meaning laidback AF and practical), and I always had an extra layer with me in case the clouds rolled in. There are lots of different types of terrain to explore in Maui too, so it was necessary to have some hiking gear on hand. Scroll through to see all my looks, and shop!
