Strolling Through NOLA | The Garden District

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you might’ve seen photos from my recent trip to the beautiful city of New Orleans. It was my first time there, and though it’s better known for the famous French Quarter, I fell in love with a neighborhood called the Garden District. I’ll be doing a weekend guide to New Orleans on the blog very soon, but until then – check out this fun little video I did with Gabriel Bienczycki. It’s easy to see why I loved it so much.

The Garden District in NOLA is home to the most stunning, historical Victorian houses you’ve ever seen, many of which have been there since the 1800’s. As someone from southern California (where a new development goes up in my neighborhood practically every day), I always geek out anytime I visit anywhere in the States that has this much history. Basically, I just like old stuff. On this particular day, I floated through town with a silky maxi skirt, but paired it with these cool Veja sneakers rather than a dressed up heel. New Orleans is a walking city, so anything besides comfy sneaks or flats is pretty much out of the question. The vibe in this town seems to be pretty casual, so you could easily wear something like this from sightseeing straight to dinner. Check out the full video above (where Sandra Bullock’s house makes an appearance – can you guess which one??), and show my look below.
