I’ve decided that 2018 hasn’t started yet. In my eyes, January is a free month in which we’re given a chance to recover from the holidays and the craziness of the previous year, a chance to generally just get our shit together. If you’re like me, you have big goals for 2018, but it feels like January decided to come at us just too damn fast. I need at least a few more weeks of putting minimal effort into my outfits, faking an ‘intentionally effortless’ vibe by wearing clothes that actually resemble pajamas.
While I may be a little late to this tracksuit trouser trend, in my own life I don’t see these pants going anywhere fast. They’re comfy, chic and lazy without appearing so – essentially everything I look for in clothing at the moment. If you grew up in the 90s like me, I’m hoping you remember when tear away track pants were the thing, especially rolled down and paired with a crop top à la Britney Spears. Anyone? How our parents let us out of the house I’m not exactly sure, but I’m loving the 2018 version of the trend and you’ll find me lazing around in these all winter long. When you do decide to venture out in public wearing these, go for a tight top and high heels for a more feminine look. Or just say screw it and go full Sporty Spice by pairing them with sneakers and a cropped hoodie.
