How do I love thee, crop flare jeans? Oh let me count the ways… No but really, it’s getting out of hand. I now have approximately every single color imaginable in this crop flare style, which we all know can’t possibly be on-trend for longer than a few seasons… no? Nevertheless, I love them, and have essentially said goodbye to skinny jeans (for the time being). You would think they would be unflattering for someone with short legs such as myself, but that’s not the case.
Anything with a high waist that shows some leg seems to be incredibly elongating, not to mention there’s just something so fucking cool about them. I’m the laziest of dressers, so the crop flare has become one of my easiest go-to pieces for throwing on a look. The crop-cami-camo jacket combo is particularly a no-brainer.
As part of my resolutions this year, I cleared out my closet and have been replacing items with versatile basics, to create my own capsule wardrobe of sorts. Silk cami tanks, tons of jeans, easy throw-on dresses, skirts, shoes and outerwear that will hopefully stand the test of time. The way to keep a capsule wardrobe interesting is to throw in a splurge/trendy item or two each season, take this oversized camo jacket. I love how the ring zipper detail gives it the tiniest flair, that takes it beyond your average utility number.
Also consider buying ‘basics’ in interesting color variations – a silk cami will literally never go out of style and is perfect for any occasion, but in a cool color like this mustardy/chartreuse-ish green adds some pop to a relatively easy look. That being said… *adds more to cart*
