Happy New Year guys! I’m writing this from my cozy bed while listening to the rain. I’m loving the weather in LA lately, it’s been actually freezing (by my standards) and rainy (by LA standards). Some people are complaining about it, but I can’t get enough. I love lighting the fireplace and having a reason to layer up. Getting to experience actual weather here is a rare luxury.
Why am I wearing a see-through top in cold weather you might be asking yourself? Weirdly enough this Zara mesh top is pretty warm as far as mesh tops go – it’s double layered and long sleeved, plus I love the way the bell sleeves pop out of my jacket. Am I just making excuses for my questionable choice to wear this top in winter? Maybe, but I love the look! I’ve been lusting over a red moto jacket for quite a while now, and these pieces seemed to go together perfectly for a quick coffee outing this week. I love that this shade of red isn’t overly annoying or attention grabbing either, which is the main reason I usually shy away from the color.
While I usually don’t try to draw too much attention to myself with my outfits (introvert alert), I still like to feel confident when I step out into the world, just as much as the next person. I’ve decided that in 2017 I’m going to take more fashion risks, try more colors (eek!), try riskier combinations that I definitely would’ve been too lazy/tired/stressed to try last year. Why the hell not? As I mentioned in my last post about New Years resolutions, I’m ready to switch up the energy in my life and make 2017 kick 2016’s ass, in every way from my personal life to the clothes I put on my back. Let’s do this!
