The Antidote For A February Style Slump

With the weather already leaning towards spring in LA, I have my eye on next season and my inevitable closet purge that is bound to happen on some ill-fated Sunday afternoon. I’ve been having one of those style crises where I’ve suddenly realized that I have not one acceptable top to wear, and am completely tired of wearing tees. I’m already making mental notes of what can stay and what MUST go, making piles, scouring Pinterest and other blogs for replacement ideas. I do this about once a quarter, when my sartorial schizophrenia takes hold near the transition of each new season like clockwork.

One particular trend that definitely does not suck is the topstitch trend that started trickling into our closets last year, and by the looks of Zara’s new arrivals isn’t going anywhere fast (the Zara gods know all). I’ve decided that 2018 will be the year of fun, statement tops – with the intent of streamlining my getting ready process by making an outfit pop with minimal effort. I’m digging this trend due to the corset/lingerie vibe to it, so it’s understatedly sexy, even when you’re wearing a top that covers you neck to wrist, like this one. When paired with jeans and boots (or even sexy heels for date night), it packs a lot of look into somewhat simple outfit. Thoughts?

Yes! Its like the ending of winter but not really and the desire for spring leaves us with no clothing options. However, this look is super cute!
