Epic Army Jacket

Black Friday has come and gone, and while I will never be one to get up at 4am to wait in a line for an appliance or even a pair of shoes (no judging though!), I might be known to drop a few dimes from behind my laptop screen instead (in my pj’s no less). This year I scored this seriously epic army jacket from ASOS for 30% off just before it sold out, thanks be to the online shopping gods. With a jacket like this there is really no need to spend a lot of time thinking about the rest of your look – it speaks for itself.

I paired it with a simple bodysuit/skirt combo, adding a little texture to the look with some croc embossed booties. I can’t wait to rock this jacket over a simple tee and jeans look, with a messy topknot bun. It’s one of those magical items that make a simple outfit look avante garde, without even trying. Obsessed.

I’ve been going through a bit of a fashion rut lately, and have gotten rid of about 60% of my wardrobe. As scary as that sounds, it’s actually extremely liberating. While now I really feel like I have nothing to wear (a common complaint of most fashion girls), the pieces that I DO have, I love. I have a new shopping strategy, to go for classic, basic pieces with a fun statement piece splashed in here and there, like this army jacket. My goal for the new year will be living more simply yet efficiently, making room for the things that really matter (both metaphysical, and sartorial – again, like this army jacket).

Great jacket! I’m sad it’s sold out in my size now. T_T My closet needs a purge too – I love that liberating feeling, but I also like to hoard my clothes lol (because everything comes back into vogue eventually).
